West Hollywood Station patrol deputies took custody of David Cook, 44, who was booked for attempted murder and is being held on a one-million dollar bail at the West Hollywood Sheriff's Station.
The victim of the attempted murder has since been released from the hospital and is recovering at home.
No other information regarding the victim or the investigation is being released at this time.

ORIGINAL PRESS RELEASE
On Monday November 15th, 2021, West Hollywood Station Deputies responded to a local shopping center located at the 7800 block of Santa Monica Boulevard, regarding LA County Fire treating a person bleeding from his neck and arms. When deputies arrived LA County Fire and paramedics were already on scene treating the victim who was sitting on the ground bleeding profusely from his neck and upper torso. The victim told deputies he had just left a store and was going to walk home, holding a bag of sodas when the attack took place. The stabbing was unprovoked, and the victim did not know the suspect. The victim was rushed to a local hospital to be treated for his injuries. The victim remains at a local hospital.
The suspect is described as a male Black adult between 40-50 years old, his height is approximately six feet tall and his weight is approximately 180 pounds. The video surveillance included with this press release is footage obtained of the suspect seconds before and seconds after the unprovoked attack.
West Hollywood Sheriff’s Station Detectives are asking the public to come forward if you recognize the suspect. It is believed he frequents the West Hollywood area and it is believed he uses public transportation to get around the area. If you believe you know the suspect please do not try to apprehend or approach him because he is consider armed with a weapon/s and dangerous. Please call 911 immediately or call 310-855-8850 if you have any information that may lead to his arrest.

Attempt Murder Suspect from West Hollywood Arrested
On Sunday, November 21, 2021, West Hollywood Station deputies responded to Beverly Boulevard and Martel Avenue in the City of Los Angeles regarding LAPD officers detaining an attempted murder suspect from one of our cases. LAPD officers were alerted by a concerned member of the public who recognized the suspect from a wanted flyer.
