46-year-old Bicyclist Succumbs to Injuries Sustained in Collision with a Vehicle

INVOLVED PARTY (2): Mark Perry, resident of Hesperia
INVOLVED VEHICLE (2): 2002 Chevrolet Suburban
SUMMARY: On Sunday, November 21, 2021, at about 7:34 p.m., deputies from the Hesperia Station and emergency personnel from the San Bernardino County Fire Department responded to a traffic collision involving a bicycle and a 2002 Chevrolet Suburban in the area of Main Street and G Avenue, in the city of Hesperia.
Through preliminary investigation, it appears at the time of the collision the bicyclist traveled north across Main Street, and the Suburban traveled west in the #1 west lane of Main Street. The bicyclist travelled into the path of the Suburban and suffered major injuries. He was flown to a trauma center. Despite efforts to treat the bicyclist, he succumbed to his injuries on November 22, 2021.
An investigator from the Hesperia Station Major Accident Investigation Team (MAIT) is handling the traffic collision investigation. It does not appear drugs and/or alcohol were factors in this crash.
