Advisory

Chicago resident arrested on multiple charges after assaulting ex-boyfriend.

On November 22, 2021 at 2:44 p.m. the Rock County 911 Center received two Text-to-911 text messages asking for “HELP.” The dispatchers tried to communicate back to the person who texted and received to response. The phone number associated with those texts had prior contacts at a residence in the 100 block of Red Apple Dr. and a caution note for that residence with information that the homeowner has been the victim of several stalking incidents. Additionally, Rock County 911 used the computer program RapidSOS to pinpoint the location the texts were made from, and confirmed they originated at the Red Apple Drive address. Janesville police officers were dispatched within a minute to that location.

Upon arriving on scene officers forced entry into the residence and found Nicole Dunlap and the victim in a struggle.  As officers were approaching Dunlap, she lunged at an officer and struck him in the face with her fist.  Another officer was able to control Dunlap, and she was subsequently taken into custody and held at the Rock County Jail pending her initial appearance.

The investigation revealed Dunlap entered the residence while the victim was at work.  Upon arriving home, the victim confronted Dunlap, and a struggle ensued.  During the struggle Dunlap strangled and battered the victim.

A check of Wisconsin Circuit Court Access showed Dunlap is currently out on bond for charges stemming from three previous assaults, and or threats towards the victim.

  • On 7/15/21 Dunlap appeared in court for charges of Criminal Damage to Property and Disorderly conduct against the victim.  Dunlap was given a $300 signature bond and instructed not to have contact with the victim.
  • On 8/02/21 Dunlap appeared in court for charges of Disorderly Conduct with the use of a dangerous weapon, Obstructing an Officer, and Threaten Injury via Computer Message against the victim.  Dunlap was given a $1,000 signature bond and instructed not to have contact with the victim.
  • On 10/19/21 Dunlap appeared in court for charges of Stalking, Battery, Theft, Criminal Trespass to Dwelling, and Unlawful Use of Phone against the victim.  Dunlap was also charged with two counts of Misdemeanor Bail Jumping.  Dunlap was given a cash bond of $2,000, and instructed not to contact the victim.
