Santa Maria Police investigating a shooting which sent a victim to the hospital. 
On Wednesday, 11/24/21 at about 8:20 PM, SMPD officers were sent to the 1600 block of North Western Avenue regarding a shooting which had occurred. Upon arrival officers located a victim who sustained a gunshot wound. The adult male victim was transported to Marian Regional Medical Center by ambulance with a life-threatening injury.
SMPD Detectives are investigating the shooting and are asking anyone who may have seen any suspicious activity before or after the shooting to please contact them at (805) 928-3781 X2277. Additionally, any residences in the area with surveillance systems are asked to check for activations around the time of the shooting.
