Moraga Road is now open.  Thank you for your cooperation during our investigation.
 
Today, at approximately 10:15 a.m., Moraga Police officers were advised of an injury traffic accident on Moraga Road near Lucas Drive.  Officers responded to the scene and discovered that an automobile and a bicycle were involved in the accident and one person was severely injured.  Moraga-Orinda Fire District paramedics responded to the scene and treated the injured person, but unfortunately, the person was pronounced dead at the scene.  All of the involved parties are adults.  No juveniles nor young adults were involved.  The involved parties are not being identified at this time, pending notification of next of kin.
