TRAFFIC ADVISORY: Downtown road closures today in preparation for tonight's Festival of Lights Parade

The Annual Los Altos Festival of Lights Parade is tonight at 6PM, Sunday, November 28th in downtown Los Altos. There are many traffic impacts in downtown Los Altos in preparation for this evening’s event.  If you plan to attend this event, consider walking to downtown or ride-share as parking will be restricted. All roadways are scheduled to re-open by 9PM tonight. 

PARADE ROUTE
The parade will begin at First and State Street and make its way through downtown via Main Street, First Street, Whitney Street and Third Street. The Parade will end at Plaza South, which runs parallel to San Antonio Road.

TRAFFIC IMPACTS & NO PARKING CLOSURES

  • North Plaza between First Street and Third Street will close 6AM – 9PM
  • Central Plaza between First Street and State Street will close 3PM – 9PM 
  • South Plaza between First Street and San Antonio Rd will close 4PM – 9PM
  • First Street between Edith Ave and Main Street will close 11AM – 9PM 
  • First Street from Whitney (NB) to the tire shop will close 8AM – 9PM
    • Draeger’s will remain open until 8PM but limited vehicle traffic after 4PM
  • State Street and Main Street will close from 4PM – 9PM
    • Chevron will remain open with limited access between 4PM – 8PM
  • W. Edith Avenue will remain open from Foothill Expressway to San Antonio Road
PARKING
Handicapped Parking is available in Plaza North, between Third and Fourth Streets, behind Wells Fargo Bank. To easily access, enter from Edith at Third Street (do not attempt to cross Main Street).
 
Parking will be very limited downtown, watch out for the red and white “No Parking” signs, road closure barricades and warning signs. Any unlawfully parked vehicles will be towed at the owner’s expense.

Ride sharing to the event? Have your driver drop you off at “Village Park at W. Edith Avenue”. There is a turnout on the right side of W. Edith Avenue.
