SMPD Case #SMPD21-0014963

On 11/27/21 at approximately 1851 hours, officers were dispatched to the intersection of McClelland St and Alvin Ave in response to a vehicle vs pedestrian traffic collision.

Upon arrival, officers located a pedestrian in the roadway who had been struck by a vehicle.  The pedestrian was transported to an area hospital where he later died of his injuries.  He is described as a Hispanic male adult although his identity, age, and city of residence are unknow at this time.

All other involved parties remained on scene until officers arrived.  It is unknow at this time if alcohol played a factor in this collision.

This fatal traffic collision is being investigated by the Santa Maria Police Department Traffic Bureau.  Anyone with further information is urged to contact the Traffic Bureau at 805-928-3781 x2277.
