Narrative:
A 4-year-old child was found unconscious and fighting for her life after she was battered by her father in their Thousand Oaks residence Monday.

On November 29, 2021, at around 11:37AM, Thousand Oaks deputies responded to an ambulance follow-up in the 4100 block of Lemonberry Place in Thousand Oaks.  The Ventura County Fire Department was on scene providing cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and treating the child for severe injuries caused by physical child abuse.  Paramedics rushed the young girl to a local hospital, where she remains in critical condition.

Tekquan Alexander, the father of the 4-year-old girl, was contacted at the residence and arrested for mayhem and felony child abuse.

Detectives executed a search warrant at Alexander’s residence.  During the search, an unsecured assault rifle and handgun were located in Alexander’s bedroom.  The investigation revealed Alexander is prohibited by state law to possess firearms and was subsequently charged with weapon violations.

Alexander was booked into the Pre-Trial Detention Facility where he is currently being held in lieu of a $500,000.00 bail. He has a scheduled arraignment in Ventura County Superior Court on 12/01/2021, at 1:30PM, in Courtroom #13.
