This evening (12/01/2021), at about 5:00 p.m., the Fremont Police Department responded to a reported shooting on Martha Avenue. Initial information was that a victim had been shot in the leg, and the suspect had fled the residence. Officers arrived within minutes and contacted the victim, who had a non-life-threatening wound to his leg. The victim was transported to a local hospital for medical aid and is expected to make a full recovery.
During the investigation, a person of interest was identified and contacted with a firearm in a nearby neighborhood. The subject is currently being questioned by investigation officers. This remains an active investigation.
