On Monday, November 29, 2021 at approximately 2246 hours, the Readington Township Police checked on a vehicle in the parking lot of Station Center Plaza. While speaking to the driver, the officer smelled a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage emanating from his breath and observed his speech slow and slurred. Colin Cash (59) out of Morris Plains, NJ failed the officers field sobriety tests and was taken into custody for driving while intoxicated. Cash was issued a summons for DWI, Possession of an Open Container, Reckless Driving, Failure to Produce Registration and Driving While Unlicensed. The filing of charges is merely one step in the process. A defendant is presumed innocent until proven guility in a court of law.
