Today marks the 56th anniversary of the “Food Villa Shoot-Out” during which Officer James McNamara and Lonnie Weger, of the Santa Clara Police Department, and two bystanders were shot. Officer McNamara was left a paraplegic from the incident and later succumbed to his injuries. A Hero Workout is a tribute to a fallen first responder or member of the military who served honorably and died in the line of duty. Members of the Santa Clara Police Department will participate in a Hero Workout to include:
12 Rounds
- 3 Deadlifts (Body Weight)
- 6 Wall Balls
- 5 Toes-to-Bar
Members of the community are invited to participate at their own pace and at a location of their choice.
