Huntsville Mountain Fire in McDowell County
at 70% containment
MARION – As of 3 p.m., the Huntsville Mountain Fire has burned roughly 436 acres and is 70% contained. Crews monitored the fire overnight and resumed mop up and burnout operations today.
Approximately 37 personnel continue working this fire. N.C. Forest Service aviation resources are available to support suppression efforts if needed.
