Carnival Games, Bounce Houses, Tree Lighting, and an Appearance from Santa
Ready to party like it's 1991? The City of Lake Forest is hosting its 1991-themed birthday party from 2 p.m. to 5:30 pm, Saturday, December 4, at the Civic Center.
Voters in 1991 overwhelmingly approved cityhood for Lake Forest, by a vote of 5,785 “yes” to 2,682 “no.” Voters also selected “Lake Forest” over “El Toro” for the name of the new City, albeit in a closer vote, 4,090 to 3,920.
The City’s 30th birthday is a family-friendly event with entertainment and food for all. A variety of food vendors will be present to satisfy all appetites. For the adults, complement your meal with a drink from the beer and wine gardens. Kids can spend their time playing games, making crafts, bungee jumping, exploring inflatables, and even rock climbing.
Curious how we’ve changed so much? Some of Lake Forest’s early leaders will gather for a chat about the decisions that made the City what it is today.
The event wraps up with the City's first tree lighting. The Civic Center is at 100 Civic Center Dr.
