MARION – As of 2 p.m., firefighting crews have fully contained the Huntsville Mountain Fire that has burned roughly 436 acres. Crews continued mopping up the fire today and have it well within containment lines.
Until the area receives soaking rain, firefighting crews will continue to patrol and monitor the fire to ensure there is no heat and it remains cold.
Authorities have determined that the fire originated from hunting activities. No additional information is available at this time and the investigation is ongoing.
