El Cerrito Police Blotter November 30th to December 5th, 2021 
The following is a summary of criminal activity in El Cerrito. It does not include all crimes. It also does not include non-criminal events such as missing persons, traffic collisions, non-criminal deaths, non-criminal disputes, nor many other police activities that do not result in arrest.
November 30th
Shoplifting – Walgreens, 11565 San Pablo Ave.
At 9:25 am, an unknown suspect entered the store carrying a black trash bag and proceeded to fill it with medications, snacks, and soda. He then fled the business without paying.
Battery – Ohlone Greenway / Blake St.
At 12:10 pm, an unknown suspect kicked the victim off his bicycle while he was riding on the Ohlone Greenway. No injuires were reported.
Petty theft – 500 block of Kearney St.
Sometime on Sunday, 11/28, an unknown suspect removed a 60 amp main fuse block from the victim’s electrical box.
Shoplifting - Ross, 2000 El Cerrito Plaza
At 8:33 pm, an officer reported the arrest of a 47-year-old man for shoplifting; the man was later released with a citation.
Shoplifting - Ross, 2000 El Cerrito Plaza
While dealing with the shoplifting incident above, an officer contacted a 34-year-old male as he exited the store with stolen merchandise. The merchandise was recovered and the man was later released with a citation.
December 1st
Battery – 500 block of Ashbury Ave.
At 11:45 am, an officer accepted the citizen’s arrest of an 18-year-old Richmond woman after she confronted the victim and struck her several times. The suspect fled but was apprehended by officers a few blocks away. She was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and released.
Shoplifting – Walgreens, 11565 San Pablo Ave.
At 2:30 pm, an unknown suspect entered the store, selected multiple toothbrushes, and fled without paying.

At 6:56 pm, an officer accepted the Citizen’s Arrest of a 22-year-old female after she exited the business in front of the officer with stolen merchandise. The woman was later released from the scene with a citation.
Shoplifting – Walgreens, 11565 San Pablo Ave.
At 10:54 pm, an officer reported that 4 juveniles entered the business and stole numerous items before fleeing.
DUI, Collision – McDonalds, 11821 San Pablo Ave.
At 10:54 pm, an officer reported the arrest of a 46-year-old female following a solo vehicle collision. The woman was arrested for DUI and was later released from the ECPD with a citation.
Attempted Grand Theft – Blake Street / San Pablo Ave.
At 4:49 am, an officer reported an unknown suspect attempted to remove the catalytic converter from the underside of a delivery truck in the area. The suspect was scared off by an officer patrolling in the area and fled to a nearby vehicle.
December 2nd
Auto Burglary – 1200 block of Liberty St.
Sometime between 12/1 at 5:00 pm and 12/2 at 8:00 am, an unknown suspect pried off the back truck window and stole several power tools.
Grand Theft – Foot Locker, 430 El Cerrito Plaza
At 3:50 pm, 4 unknown suspects entered the business, grabbed armfuls of clothing, and fled without paying. The reported loss was over several thousand dollars.
Stolen Vehicle – Eastshore Boulevard / Potrero Ave.
At 5:59 pm, an officer reported an unknown suspect stole the victim’s Ford pickup sometime earlier that same day.
Vandalism – Uncle Wong’s, 11760 San Pablo Ave.
At 8:33 pm, an officer reported an unknown suspect broke a store front window to the business earlier in the evening.
December 3rd
Shoplift- Walgreens, 11565 San Pablo Ave.
At 8:39 am, an officer reported an unknown suspect entered the business and concealed merchandise in a garbage bag. The suspect then exited the business without making any attempts to pay for the concealed merchandise.

At 1:36 pm, an officer reported an unknown suspect entered the business, concealed merchandise, and then left the business without paying.
Forgery– Bank of the West, 11100 San Pablo Ave.
At 11:20 am, officers were dispatched to a report of a male subject trying to cash a forged check. Upon officers’ arrival, they contacted the male, who advised he was at the bank to verify if the check he received in the mail was authentic. The male was positively identified and released from the scene. The officer will conduct further follow-up.
Shoplift – CVS, 670 El Cerrito Plaza
At 1610 hours, an officer reported a male and female entered the business, selected alcohol, and then left the business without paying.
Shoplifting – Ross, 11545 San Pablo Ave.
At 7:00 pm, an officer reported a male and female entered the business, selected clothing, then left the business without paying. Officers located the suspects nearby and arrested a 60-year old Oakland woman and a 45-year old Stockton man. The pair were issued citations and released at the scene.
Shoplifting – Ross, 2000 El Cerrito Plaza
At 8:06 pm, an officer reported an unknown male stole $250 worth of jackets.
December 4th
Shooting Into an Occupied Dwelling – 500 block of Clayton Ave.
At 10:20 am, an officer met with a homeowner who found an expended bullet on his property and a hole in the gutter of his residence. It appears the round fell from the sky and was not shot at the home intentionally.
Felony Vandalism – 6400 block of Manila Ave.
At 12:10 pm, an officer reported an unknown suspect smashed the window, slashed the tire and dented the victim’s vehicle while it was parked on the street.
Grand Theft – CVS, 10650 San Pablo Ave.
At 3:05 pm, an officer reported two unknown suspects entered the business and pried open the high end alcohol display case and stole a large quantity of merchandise.
Shoplifting – Walgreens, 11565 San Pablo Ave.
At 5:20 pm, an officer reported an unknown suspect entered the business and stole a large quantity of cold medication before fleeing the store.
Shoplifting – Walgreens, 11565 San Pablo Ave.
At 6:30pm, an officer reported that 4 juveniles entered the business and stole alcohol before fleeing the store.
December 5th
Possession of Narcotics – 1300 block of Liberty St.
At 7:03pm, an officer reported the arrest of a 23-year old El Cerrito male for being in possession of fentanyl.
Shoplifting – Ross, 2000 El Cerrito Plaza
At 7:14 pm, an officer reported that an unknown suspect stole $150 worth of jackets.
