MISSING PERSON - update 12/8/21 at 8am

Our followers are amazing!

Again, with our community’s persistence and the Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety’s assistance, Mr. Manalic was located near El Camino Real and Bernardo in Sunnyvale with his dog, Fluffy.

Ironically, Fluffy’s pet identification tag served as a tool in connecting Mr. Manalic with his family. What a great reminder to keep you pet identification tags up to date with your current contact information!

Mr. Manalic is in good health, and is being reunited with his family.

Thank you to everyone who Liked, Retweeted and Shared our messaging, and helped to look for him.

On December 5 at approximately 2 p.m., 79-year old Melencio Manalic took his small black and white dog for a walk from his home on the 300 block of Monroe Street and hasn’t been seen since. He does not have a cell phone and is new to the neighborhood;  prior to moving to Santa Clara, Mr. Manalic resided on the 2800 block of Bellini Court in San Jose. He is approximately 5’ 4” and 154 lbs with brown eyes, short gray hair and was last seen wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, black hat, dark pants, and gray shoes.

The Santa Clara Police Department has initiated the following initiatives in an effort to reunite Mr. Manalic, and his dog Fluffy, with their family:

  • Interviewed family members
  • Conducted area searches
  • Checked local hospitals, county jail and the coroner’s office
  • Shared TRAK flyer with fellow law enforcement agencies
  • Informed mass transit entities
  • Informed the City’s Public Works and Parks and Recreation Division employees
  • Screened missing person databases
  • Disseminated information on the City and Police Department’s web and social media resources
  • Notified local news media
  • Coordinated a Silver Alert with the California Highway Patrol
  • Shared details about the missing dog’s description with Silicon Valley Animal Control
After extensive efforts, Mr. Manalic remains missing as of 1:30 p.m. on December 7.
