SMPD Arrests Duo on Multiple Charges
 
San Mateo, CA - On Wednesday, December 8, 2021 at approximately 12:44 a.m., SMPD officers responded to the 700 block of Monte Diablo Avenue on the report of a group of people threatening the occupants of a residence.  Upon arrival, an SMPD officer quickly located two males who matched the description of the persons accused of threatening the residents.  The officer ordered the two males to stop, but they refused his lawful order.  When the officer approached one of the males, who was later identified as a juvenile, the juvenile punched the officer in the face.  A struggle then ensued.  Additional officers arrived on scene and the struggle briefly continued until the officers overcame the suspect’s resistance and effected his arrest.  The other male, who was later identified as Adrian Recinos, was arrested without incident. 

A search incident to arrest was conducted on both the juvenile and Recinos.  The search of the juvenile resulted in the discovery of a black imitation firearm and an ammunition magazine.  The search of Recinos produced a pipe shaped like a baton.  The 17-year-old juvenile was later booked into Hillcrest Juvenile Hall for criminal threats, resisting an executive officer, battery on a peace officer, and conspiracy.  Recinos was booked into San Mateo County Jail for criminal threats, resisting, delaying, or obstructing a public officer, conspiracy, possession of a baton or leaded cane, and possession of a deadly weapon with intent to assault. 

This remains an open and active investigation.

Conspiracy (182(a)(1) PC), Possession of A Baton or Leaded Cane (22210 PC), and Possession of a Deadly Weapon with Intent to Assault (17500 PC)
