Search Warrant Leads to Arrest of Felon in Possession of Firearms and Ammunition

SUMMARY:
Following an extensive investigation, deputies from the Multi-Enforcement Team of the Big Bear Sheriff's Station served a search warrant on December 9, 2021 at a residence in the 300 block of Sites Way in Big Bear City. The search resulted in the seizure of 15 rifles and handguns, over 1,000 rounds of ammunition of various calibers, high capacity magazines, and a silencer. The majority of the recovered guns were illegal, including non-serialized firearms, ghost guns, a 3D printed gun, a homemade zip-gun, and assault weapons with illegal features. The suspect, identified as Mark Crosby, is a convicted felon prohibited from owning or possessing firearms or ammunition.
Crosby was arrested without incident and booked at the Big Bear Jail on felony charges of being a felon in possession of firearms, being a felon in possession of ammunition, possession of a silencer, possession of a zip gun, and misdemeanor charges of possession of narcotics. Crosby is being held on a $50,000 bail pending an arraignment hearing set for December 13, 2021 at the San Bernardino Justice Center.
