NC Forest Service & McDowell County Fire Marshal Lift Burn Ban
Effective Monday, December 13, 2021 at 12:00 PM
McDowell County, NC- Effective at 12:00 p.m. Monday, December 13th, 2021, N.C. Forest Service and the McDowell County Fire Marshal’s Office have lifted the ban on all open burning for McDowell County. The burn ban went into effect on November 29, due to hazardous forest fire conditions in the area.
Residents should burn responsibly. Always check for restrictions before burning, make sure you have a valid permit, check the weather, and never leave fires unattended.
