This entry level, non-sworn position in the Police Department is assigned to the Basic Peace Officer Academy. Recruits must satisfactorily pass all of the requirements that lead to the possession of the Basic Peace Officer Academy Certificate, issued by the California Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training. After an employee obtains this certification, the responsibilities and salary adjusts to that of Police Officer ($142,699 - $182,110).
