Full Notification

Shortly before 3:00 pm, Shorewood Police Officers were dispatched to a reported entry in progress in the 4400 Block of N. Newhall St.  The caller reported a subject forced entry to the rear door of the building that led to the common stairwell of the duplex.  The caller heard the noise caused by the forced entry and went to investigate it.  She then confronted a black male subject, approximately 5’11” tall wearing all dark clothing, in the stairwell and told him to leave.  The subject then attempted to enter the caller’s residence and demanded money and jewelry while implying he had a weapon.  The subject left the building without taking anything of value and fled in an unknown direction. 

Officers searched the area for the subject, but he was not located. 

Officers are continuing to investigate this incident currently.
