SCPD Helps to Bring Holiday Joy to the Community

On December 9, members of the Santa Clara Police Department helped spread some much-needed holiday spirit to families at Scott Lane Elementary School with toys and gift cards. 

“We are excited to continue holiday traditions and reach children in our community,” said Police Chief Pat Nikolai. “The need in our community is still great, and we encourage everyone who has the ability to do so to donate to a local community organization to make the holidays brighter.” There are many ways to contribute – volunteer your time, adopt a child/family for the holidays, collect new or gently used coats and blankets, donate food or provide financial assistance/donations.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it is more challenging to bring holiday programs sponsored by charities, places of worship and non-profit organizations to low income families, the unhoused and families experiencing a crisis. Yet, the demand continues.
