A WIND ADVISORY in effect for Channahon area from 6pm 12/15 thru 9am 12/16. 
National Weather Service has issued a WIND ADVISORY for Channahon from 6 PM today, December 15, 2021 through 9 AM Thursday, December 16, 2021.
Southerly winds will increase and especially so after dark. These will be gusting to 50 to 60 mph, with the highest gusts expected north of I-80. Such gust magnitudes will be sufficient to cause damage of at least some branches and power lines. Also tonight, a line of showers and possibly a few storms will move quickly eastward through the area between 10 PM and 2 AM. Winds will gradually ease through the day Thursday, though still bringing some gusts of around 45 mph in the morning. Temperatures will also drop Thursday. Readings will be more seasonable this weekend.
