Important Snow Event Information

We have had a break in the significant snowfall, but expect another event to begin this afternoon and into tomorrow.  With strong winds expected plan for additional tree damage and power outages. Travel could be very difficult to nearly impossible with whiteout conditions at times from falling or blowing snow. Long delays are likely, with possible road closures.  We can expect further impacts to roadways and electrical utilities.  Make sure you are prepared for extended power outages, make sure you have supplies, and fuel. For community members without power and a secondary source of heat, freezing pipes become a concern as the home approaches freezing temperatures and you should consider shutting off the water at the house, winterizing, and seeking alternate shelter if needed. If you have a life threatening emergency call 911, otherwise dial 211 and they may be able to guide you to other resources. A warming/charging center is available today and may be available tomorrow, pending school closures, at the Truckee Library from 10AM to 6PM.

Truckee Donner Public Utility District (TDPUD) crews continue to work diligently to restore power to all customers, with the regional support of Roseville Electric. It is expected, with the exception of the Donner Lake area and small pockets of Tahoe Donner and Prosser Lakeview, that the most of the areas around town will have restoration of power by the end of today. Please note that this does not include areas directly around significant tree damage to TDPUD's distribution system nor damage to secondary connections to individual homes.

To report an outage, please call 530-587-3896.
