Due to the high winds which is causing numerous power outages within the Village of Mackinaw City and the surrounding areas, the Mackinaw City Police Department would like to remind travelers to stay indoors and not travel unless absolutely necessary. If you have to travel, the Police Department recommends you take your time and stay clear of areas that have been affected by the high winds.  These areas would be designted by traffic control devices( Emergency Vehicles,  Warning Signs, Barricades and Cones, Etc..). Please stay away from these areas as there may be power lines down which is not safe for the public. Thank you and have a good day.
