SMPD Arrests Three Suspects After Theft At Local Mall
San Mateo, CA- On Wednesday December 15, 2021 at approximately 4:50 p.m., San Mateo Police Department officers were dispatched to Old Navy, located at 49 W Hillsdale Boulevard, in San Mateo regarding a theft that just occurred. The caller told police dispatch three females stole items from the store and fled in a dark-colored Dodge Charger. Officers quickly spotted a vehicle that matched the description traveling eastbound on E Hillsdale Boulevard at Saratoga Boulevard.
The suspect vehicle continued to Highway 101 and then traveled southbound. The vehicle continued traveling southbound and exited on Marsh Rd. The vehicle turned east on Marsh and continued eastbound until reaching Bayshore Expressway. At this point, SMPD officers conducted a stop of the vehicle and quickly arrested the three suspects without incident. A search of the suspect vehicle located Old Navy shopping bags filled with Old Navy clothing.
The suspects were identified as Oakland residents Nyrae Burleson and Dejanae Sanders and American Canyon resident Diizhanae Merchant. They were booked into San Mateo County Jail for second degree burglary and conspiracy to commit crime.

Dejanae Sanders, an 18-year-old Oakland resident
Charges: Second Degree Burglary (460(b) PC) Conspiracy to commit crime (182(a)1 PC)
