Borough of Leonia - COVID-19 Vaccine/Booster Clinic - Tuesday, December 21, 2021 
Fellow Leonians:
As all of you know, COVID-19 cases are increasing dramatically throughout the United States, including in New Jersey. This is being driven not just by the Delta variant but also by the Omicron variant, which unfortunately is increasing its prevalence across the country. Today alone, 6,260 confirmed new cases have been reported across our state, with 16 deaths. The rate of transmission is 1.23 (meaning that everyone who gets the virus will transmit it to more than one additional person).
The best defense against COVID-19 continues to be vaccination; we are pleased to announce that we have procured supplies of both Pfizer and Moderna vaccines, and with the help of those who have stepped forward to volunteer their time, we will be holding a vaccine clinic here in Leonia, next week. Details are as follows:

NOTE: If you previously received the J&J (Janssen) vaccine, you are eligible to receive either the Pfizer or Moderna booster if it has been at least two months since your initial vaccination.
While we will be accepting walk-ins, appointments are STRONGLY recommended, in order to minimize potential wait times.

We encourage all who have already been fully vaccinated to get your booster vaccine during our clinic; getting a booster is the best possible way to ensure that you do not contract COVID-19. If you or members of your family five and older haven’t yet been vaccinated, this is the perfect time to do so.
Remember – even if you’ve already had COVID-19, you CAN get it again! If you do contract the virus, you hopefully will make a full recovery and have a mild case – but in the interim, spread the virus to friends, neighbors or family members who might then not be so lucky. So – for your sake AND for everyone else’s – we hope that everyone who can get an initial vaccine or booster will do so.
