In addition, after 17+ years with SCPD as an Adult Crossing Guard Tan Nguyen (Scott Lane) is retiring.
SCPD’s Adult Crossing Guards are responsible to staff approximately 32 locations, with 36 employees staffing those locations, throughout the city. Their primary responsibility is to guide children safely across the street while traveling to and from school, alone or accompanied by their parents, in designated crosswalks. Crossing Guards also control the flow of traffic in school zones and report motorists violating traffic safety laws.
