Suspect: Luis Alvarez Solorio, age 27 (Rohnert Park resident)
Suspect: Ali Arango Ruiz, age 23 (Petaluma resident)
Charges: Brandishing a knife, 417 PC, Obstruction, 148 PC
Incident Summary-
On 12/18/2021, at approximately 12:07 a.m., Petaluma police officers were dispatched to the 100 block of Kentucky Street to investigate a reported fight in progress. The reporting party stated that one of the subjects had a knife. Officers arrived on scene and were directed to the area where Solorio and Ruiz were walking. A witness on scene indicated they were the subjects involved in the fight. Solorio matched the description of the subject with the knife. Ruiz immediately became non-compliant and was arrested for obstruction. While being arrested, Solorio walked away. He was quickly located and detained. He was found to be in possession of a knife. He was positively identified as the subject brandishing a knife at others during the fight. A record check revealed Solorio was on probation. He was ultimately arrested for brandishing a knife and violation of probation. Ruiz was arrested for obstructing officers. They were later transported to the Sonoma County Jail.
