Fellow Leonians:
 
This is a reminder that there will be a COVID-19 vaccine/booster clinic on Tuesday, December 21, 2021. The clinic will be open from 5:00 PM – 9:00 PM at the Leonia Recreation Center, 370 Broad Ave. in Leonia.
 
There are still some appointments available; to register online for an appointment, simply visit https://covidvaccineleonia.youcanbook.me/.
 
Pfizer and Moderna vaccines will be available, both for first doses and for booster injections. In addition, the Pfizer pediatric vaccine will also be available for first doses (patients aged 5-12 are authorized to receive this vaccine).
 
You are eligible to receive a COVID-19 booster injection if you are;

• 16 years of age or older and received the Pfizer vaccine six (6) months ago or earlier; or;
• 18 years of age or older and received the Moderna vaccine six (6) months ago or earlier; or;
• 18 years of age or older and received the Johnson & Johnson vaccine two (2) months ago or earlier.

The Omicron COVID-19 variant has taken a firm hold across the United States, including in New Jersey, and new cases are increasing rapidly. Today’s new case total in New Jersey is 6,533, and the rate of transmission is 1.21 (anything over 1.00 is considered very high).
 
The best defense against contracting COVID-19 is to ensure that you and all of the eligible members of your family are fully vaccinated and/or have received a booster (if eligible). We hope you will consider taking part in the December 21 Borough of Leonia COVID-19 vaccine/booster clinic.
