Suspect charged after a recent shooting at San Pablo Avenue and Hearst Avenue
On December 8th at 9:15 pm, multiple witnesses reported a shooting at San Pablo Avenue near Hearst Avenue. Officers located evidence of a shooting at that intersection and interviewed witnesses who were able to provide information that led to the identity of the suspect.
On December 17th, BPD detectives arrested a 55-year-old Richmond man on an arrest warrant for the shooting. A subsequent search warrant at his Richmond residence was conducted resulting in the seizure of a firearm, ammunition and approximately 100 fake Macbook Pro laptops.
On December 17th, the Alameda County District Attorney’s Office charged the suspect with PC 245(b)—Assault with a deadly weapon, PC 246—shooting at an occupied vehicle, PC 29800(a)—being a felon in possession of a firearm, as well as a criminal enhancement for commission of a crime with a firearm.
