13 Drivers Arrested at Rialto Police Department’s Checkpoint
Rialto, Calif. – On December 17, 2021, the Rialto Police Department hosted a DUI/ driver’s license checkpoint. Five motorists were arrested for DUI, and 64 citations were issued for various vehicle code violations, which resulted in over 20 vehicles being towed.
The checkpoint was held at 850 E Foothill Blvd from 5:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m.
Over 30 drivers were cited for operating a vehicle unlicensed or with a suspended/revoked license, 1,074 vehicles were contacted. Eight people were arrested for other criminal charges to include narcotic possession and street racing.
Checkpoint locations are based on a history of crashes and DUI arrests. The primary purpose of checkpoints is not to make arrests, but to promote public safety by deterring drivers from driving impaired.
The Rialto Police Department is committed to keeping the public safe when they are traveling.
Rialto Police Department will hold another DUI/Driver’s License checkpoint April 1, 2022.
