Phone Scam- Spoofing/Cloning Bethel Police Department's phone number
Bethel Police Department has been made aware that there is another phone scam going around where the suspects are calling from our phone number (907-543-3781). We ask that the public report these instances to https://reportfraud.ftc.gov/
Pass this information onto your friends and family who may not have social media or internet connections. Often the people who fall prey to these scams and lose their money are the older folks who aren't as internet savvy.
Please remember:
Law enforcement will never call you to have you pay a fine or pay off a warrant
Do not ever give out personal information over the phone
No government or official agency will ever ask you to pay fees/fines/taxes etc. over the phone with gift cards.

If you receive one of these calls, hang up and immediately call the Police Department back.
