On December 22, 2021, at approximately 4:40 p.m., Morgan Hill Police Officers responded to the Executive Inn, located at 16505 Condit Road, to investigate the report of a physical confrontation between two subjects.  Upon arrival, a female victim was located in a room on the lower level of the motel.  The female was not conscious and did not have a pulse. Lifesaving efforts were initiated and the victim was transported to Regional Medical Center in San Jose where she was pronounced deceased.
 
Investigating officers gathered evidence that William Sutherland, 42 years old, from Morgan Hill was responsible for the death of the female victim.  Sutherland was located at the scene and arrested without incident.  Sutherland was later booked into the Santa Clara County Main Jail on a violation of P.C. 187 – Murder.
