On December 26, 2021 at about 3:11 pm Fremont Police dispatch received a call from an employee at a restaurant in the 5000 block of Mowry Avenue. The employee reported someone had walked into the restaurant claiming to have been the victim of a gunshot. Officers responded to the scene and contacted the victim. Officers confirmed the victim had been shot and that the shooting occurred near the restaurant. The victim was transported to a local trauma center with non life-threatening injuries.
Based on the preliminary investigation, this was not a random incident. It is not known what led to the shooting. Officers remain at the scene to gather evidence and conduct further investigation.
