Sheriff Richard J. Behnke reports his office is investigating a two car crash at the intersection of Marcellus Hwy and Decatur Rd, Volinia Twp of Cass County, Michigan.  This crash occurred on 12/26/2021 at 1040 Hrs.
 

Emergency personnel arrived on scene, finding that two vehicles had crashed into one another.  The first vehicle was driven by Christopher Allen Cleveland, 36 yrs of Marcellus, MI. Cleveland was traveling westbound on Marcellus Hwy approaching the intersection when the second vehicle pulled out in front of him. The second vehicle was occupied by four subjects, the driver, ChenSheng Guan, 31 yrs of Flushing, NY.  With Mr. Guan, were GuiYun Liu, 40 yrs, of China, Xiaochong Wan, 42 yrs of Flushing, NY and MaoSong Lin, 63 yrs of Brooklyn, NY.  Initial investigation shows that Guan failed to yield to Cleveland at the intersection.   Cleveland and Wan were transported to Borgess-Lee Memorial Hospital, Dowagiac, MI and Mr. Lin was transported to Ascension-Borgess Hospital in Kalamazoo, Michigan.  Seat belts and Airbags were used in the crash. At this time, it is unknown if Alcohol or Narcotics played a factor in the crash.

 

Deputies were assisted by Michigan State Police, Dowagiac Fire Department, Wayne Twp. Fire Department, Pride Care Ambulance, Marcellus Ambulance, Van Buren Emergency Medical Services and Air Care of Kalamazoo, MI.
