UPDATE: West Covina Police Investigates Homicide

DATE OF RELEASE: Tuesday, December 28, 2021
On December 25, 2021 at approximately 12:51 pm officers received a 911 call regarding a shooting that occurred at an apartment located in 2600 block of South Azusa Avenue. Officers located a deceased male adult and a critically injured female adult, both of whom sustained gunshot wounds. No one else was injured during the incident. Two children were taken into protective custody and later released to family. The adult female was transported to a local hospital where she died a few hours after the incident.
The male, 46 years old, and the female, 37 years old, lived together and were in a dating relationship. There was an altercation between the two which led to the shooting, which is still being investigated. The West Covina Police Department have no reason to believe there are any outstanding suspects or threat to the community. Inquiries regarding the identities of the deceased should be made with the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office.
