There have been a number of recent inquiries from the public concerning the burned-out recreational vehicle located at 6255 Commerce Boulevard. We’d like to quickly bring you up to speed on the issues at hand and the City’s response to date.

The fire occurred at about 10 a.m. on December 15, and was extinguished by Public Safety staff. The property owner was notified by Public Safety of their responsibility to remove the burned vehicle.

While the City has the ability to remove nuisance vehicles from private property through an abatement process, the City needs to give the private property owner the opportunity to correct the nuisance prior to taking action. Accordingly, the City mailed a written notice of violation to the property owner on December 16, directing that the vehicle be removed prior to December 31 (a copy of the notice was also provided to the tenant.) Should the conditions of violation not be resolved by the 31^st, Code Compliance will escalate enforcement by issuing one or more administrative citations to the property owner and/or initiating the abatement process. Abatement of nuisances on private property is a legal process that does take some time to implement.

Recientemente, se han recibido varias consultas del público sobre la autocaravana quemada ubicada en 6255 Commerce Boulevard. Queremos ponerlo al tanto del tema en cuestión y la respuesta de la Ciudad hasta el momento.

El incendio ocurrió alrededor de las 10 de la mañana del 15 de diciembre, y fue extinguido por el personal de Seguridad Pública. Seguridad Pública notificó al dueño de la propiedad sobre su responsabilidad de retirar el vehículo quemado.

Si bien la Ciudad tiene la capacidad de quitar vehículos molestos de la propiedad privada a través de un proceso de reducción, la Ciudad debe brindarle al dueño de la propiedad la posibilidad de corregir la molestia antes de tomar medidas. Por este motivo, la Ciudad envió por correo una notificación por escrito de la infracción al dueño de la propiedad el 16 de diciembre, solicitando que se retirara el vehículo antes del 31 de diciembre (también se envió una copia de la notificación al inquilino). Si las condiciones que causan la infracción no se han resuelto antes del día 31, el Cumplimiento de Código emitirá una o más citaciones administrativas al propietario o iniciará el proceso de corrección de un perjuicio con el fin de elevar el progreso de cumplimiento. La corrección de un perjuicio en propiedad privada es un proceso legal cuya implementación requiere un cierto periodo de tiempo.
