Winter Storm on Saturday-Sunday: Hazardous Travel, Parking Restrictions
As widely reported already, a winter storm will bring up to 8 inches of snow beginning around noon today and will be followed by blowing and drifting snow tomorrow. Quickly dropping temperatures on Sunday, along with blowing snow, will make road salt less effective, and some roadways may remain snow covered. Expect treacherous travel conditions this afternoon, overnight and Sunday morning on all area roadways.
The Burr Ridge Police Department reminds everyone to promptly remove any parked vehicles from the roadways.
Our Public Works Department crews and snowplow trucks will be operating throughout this event to clear our roadways. Trucks will not remove snow that has been plowed from the roadways onto driveways, so kindly consider helping your neighbors that may need assistance clearing snow from their driveways and walkways. As with any snowfall, refrain from blowing, shoveling or plowing snow from your driveways onto our roads. Village operations will continue until all roadways are passable.
If you need medical assistance or have an emergency, please call 9-1-1. To report a damaged mailbox, call 630-654-8181 and your call will be returned on Monday. Continue to monitor NOAA Weather Radio or local news outlets for timely information from the National Weather Service.
