Advisory

Potential Winter Storm To Affect Our Area Monday

The temps outside might have it feeling a little like Spring today, but major changes are expected in our weather forecast over the next 24-hours, including the potential for high winds, flooding, and snow fall.  While there is still a high degree of uncertainty in this forecast, residents should prepare for the possibility of a winter storm that could affect our area through tomorrow afternoon.

Current projections suggest our area could be coated with 4 – 6 inches of snow, with snowfall rates possibly reaching an inch per hour or more on Monday morning.  Add in possible gale force winds and coastal flooding, and driving conditions on and around the island could be hazardous during this storm.

As previously stated, there is still a high degree of uncertainty in this forecast, however preparations for the possibility of a major winter storm should be started at this time.  Follow the National Weather Service – Mount Holly for updates, and we will provide additional information as it becomes available.
