SPECIAL WEATHER STATEMENT - Strong Thunderstorm Alert

From the National Weather Service - A special weather statement for Molokai

Molokai Windward HI-Molokai North HI-Molokai Southeast HI-Molokai Leeward South HI-Molokai West HI-125 PM HST Sun Jan 2 2022

...A strong thunderstorm will impact Molokai through 230 PM HST...
At 124 PM HST, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 6 miles southeast of Maunaloa moving northeast at 15 mph.
 
HAZARD...Winds in excess of 40 mph.
 
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
 
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects.
Locations impacted include...
Hoolehua, Maunaloa, Kualapuu, Kalaupapa National Park, Pukoo,
Ualapue, Kaunakakai, Halawa Valley, Kepuhi, Kawela, Kamalo and Molokai Airport.
 
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
