Palmdale Fatal Traffic Collision 12-31-2021 
| On Friday December 31, 2021, at approximately 5:25 PM, Palmdale Deputies responded to a traffic collision on Sierra Highway south of Technology Drive in the City of Palmdale. Deputies learned a Hispanic Male adult was driving a Tan Chevrolet 1500 northbound on Sierra Highway, while a Black Male adult was driving a White Honda Accord southbound on Sierra Highway. Preliminary investigation indicates the driver of the Chevrolet entered the southbound lanes of Sierra Highway and collided head on with the Honda. The Los Angeles County Fire Department responded to the scene and provided medical treatment to all parties involved. The Black Female adult passenger in the Honda Accord succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene. Both drivers were transported to a local hospital to receive medical treatment for non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the Chevrolet was arrested as alcohol appears to be a factor in this collision. Palmdale Station Traffic Investigator Detective Sherman responded to the scene. A portion of Sierra Highway was closed between Avenue Q and Avenue P during the investigation. |
