Winter Weather Advisory 6PM tonight to 6AM tomorrow. Bitterly cold wind chill values are predicted. Blowing snow may impact driving.
Winter Weather Advisory 6PM tonight to 6AM tomorrow. A strong cold front will sweep through Iowa bringing colder temperatures, strong winds, and areas of blowing snow. Peak wind gusts may reach 35 to 50 mph across much of the state tonight. The combination of this wind, new snow showers north, and existing snow cover over much of southern, central, and eastern Iowa may produce areas of blowing snow and reduced visibilities, especially in rural areas. Wind hills will be bitterly cold perhaps as low as 20 below. Be sure to check the latest road conditions before heading out tonight as road conditions and visibilities may change quite rapidly. Also secure loose outdoor objects due to the strong winds.
