PLEASE DO NOT PLACE HOT ASHES IN GARBAGE CARTS 
This morning the Department of Public Works encountered what happens when ashes that were not given adequate time to burn out are dumped into a garbage cart. Please make sure any ashes from woodstoves, fireplaces, etc...have been given adequate time to sit outdoors in a metal container before placing them in the garbage cart:
