Wind Chill Advisory until 01:00PM Friday

* WHAT...For the Winter Storm Warning, heavy snow. Snow accumulations of 5 to 7 inches with locally higher amounts above 3500 feet. For the Wind Chill Advisory, very cold wind chills expected. Wind chills as low as 15 below zero on Friday.

* WHERE...Portions of southwest and west central Virginia and southeast West Virginia.

* WHEN...For the Winter Storm Warning, until 7 AM EST Friday. For the Wind Chill Advisory, from 4 AM to 1 PM EST Friday.

* IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult. The hazardous conditions could impact the morning or evening commute. The cold wind chills could result in hypothermia if precautions are not taken.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Northwest winds will gust up to 40 mph along the ridges Friday morning which will result in blowing snow and reduced visibilities.

* AFFECTED AREAS: TAZEWELL ... BATH ... MERCER ... SUMMERS ... MONROE ... EASTERN GREENBRIER ... WESTERN GREENBRIER

A Wind Chill Advisory is issued when strong winds will combine with cold temperatures for several hours to create dangerously cold conditions for exposed skin. Use caution while outside.
