* WHAT...Heavy snow possible. Total snow accumulations of 8 to 20 inches or higher possible. Winds could gust as high as 40 mph.

* WHERE...The northeast Gulf Coast, Glacier Bay, Misty Fjords, the eastern Gulf Coast, and portions of the central Inner Channels including Juneau, Hoonah, Tenakee Springs, Gustavus, Yakutat, Pelican, Elfin Cove, and Hyder.

* WHEN...From Saturday evening through Sunday evening.

* IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult. Slipper conditions will develop. Heavy, wet snow will be difficult to manage.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Heavy snow may transition or change to rain early Monday. Heavy rain over deep snow could challenge roof- tops, decks, and boats with extremely heavy loads. Pay close attention to your local avalanche forecast especially for those near steep terrain. With rain over deep snowpack, flooding is also a concern for next week.
