      (707) 588-3580 Public Information Officer Rohnert Park

At 1:28 PM, Thursday, January 6, 2022, the Rohnert Park Department of Public Safety received a 911 call from the resident of 7259 Circle Drive that his car was on fire in the garage. The first Rohnert Park patrol unit arrived within two minutes and reported that there was heavy smoke coming from the garage. The officer helped an elderly woman evacuate the house and directed arriving fire crews to the source of the fire.

An aggressive fire attack from Rohnert Park Department of Public Safety with the assistance of Rancho Adobe Fire District had the fire contained to the garage with no fire extension into the main residence.

The initial fire investigation has determined that a problem with the vehicles battery caused the car to catch fire. Fire crews helped remove smoke from the residence, which allowed the occupants to re-enter their home. The Red Cross was contacted to assist the family.
