6:48 AM: 
Officer Quinonez investigated a cold burglary that occurred in the 37000 block of Cedar Blvd. Loss was two laptop computers and a shattered door.
1:21 PM: Officer Taylor investigated a report of a stolen trailer in
in the 5000 block of Thornton Ave. Officer Swadener is investigating.
9:30 PM: Officer McCuin investigated a burglary to a vehicle that occurred in the 5000 block of Mowry Ave.

8:06 AM: Community Service Officer Parks investigated a burglary to a vehicle that occurred overnight in the 8000 block of Gateway Blvd.
11:07 AM: Community Service Officer Parks investigated the theft of two catalytic converters in the 5000 block of Northampton Ct. that occurred overnight.
4:45 PM: Officer Kapu investigated a report of embezzlement in the 5000 block of Saint Mark. While investigating the incident, it was revealed the subject, a 39-year old male out of Newark, had an outstanding felony arrest warrant related to firearms and domestic violence violations. Officers developed a contact plan in order to safely detain the subject. Upon contact, the subject refused to comply with Officer’s commands and attempted to flee while reaching for his waistband. Less than lethal force was used to take the subject into custody. A search of the subject was conducted revealing a loaded firearm in the subject’s front waistband. Ultimately the subject was arrested for felony embezzlement, a felon in possession of a firearm, carrying a stolen firearm, prohibited person in possession of ammunition, carrying a concealed stolen weapon, receiving known stolen property, carrying a loaded firearm in public, obstructing a peace officer and an outstanding felony warrant. He was booked at Santa Rita Jail.

6:56 AM: Community Service Officer Parks investigated a burglary to a vehicle that occurred in the 5000 block of Stevenson Blvd. Loss was electronics including a laptop computer.
7:14 AM: Officer Damewood investigated the theft of a catalytic convertor that occurred overnight in the 5400 block of Lafayette Avenue.
10:43 AM: Officer San Pedro investigated a burglary in the 39000 block of Balentine Dr that occurred sometime overnight.
12:24 PM: Officer Rivas investigated a burglary to a vehicle that occurred overnight in the 5800 block of Wintergreen Drive. Loss was loose change and CD’s.
7:05 PM: Officer McCuin investigated a report of a vehicle theft in the 6000 block of Albyn Ct. At approximately 11:52 PM Community Service Officer Lau located and recovered the vehicle in the 37000 block of Back Bay Rd.
7:08 PM: Community Service Officer Lau investigated three burglaries to vehicles that occurred in the 5000 block of Mowry Ave and the 39000 block of Balentine Dr respectively. Loss was two bags, three laptops, a phone, and cash respectively.

6:28 AM: Officer Damewood investigated a theft from an unlocked vehicle and burglary in the 36000 block of Forestwood Dr that occurred overnight. Loss was a purse, two helmets and a leaf blower.
10:41 AM: Officer Piquette investigated a burglary to a vehicle that occurred overnight in the 6000 block of Buena Vista Dr. Loss was a stereo and documents.
12:52 PM: Officer Damewood initiated a traffic enforcement stop in the 39000 block of Cedar Blvd. A records check revealed the vehicle was stolen out of Fremont. The driver of the vehicle fled on foot. The passenger attempted to flee on foot but was quickly detained by Officer Damewood.  Responding officers quickly set up a perimeter. With assistance from the Alameda County Sherriff’s Office (ACSO) Aviation Unit, a search of the area was conducted to no avail. The passenger was released at the scene and the vehicle was released to the registered owner. The driver was identified and the case was sent over the court house for charging.

1:44 AM: Officer Kapu made a traffic stop in the area of Moores Ave and Birch St. Officer Kapu made contact with an 18-year old male out of Newark. He was cited for driving without a license and released. The vehicle was towed.
4:11 AM: Officers responded to a report of an in-progress vehicle theft in the area of Indian Wells Dr. Officers arrived within minutes of the call, but the subjects fled prior to officer arrival. Upon further inspection, the victim vehicle’s catalytic converter was stolen.
7:00 AM: Officers investigated multiple burglaries to vehicles throughout the central and south end of the city. Loss was backpack and laptop respectively.
2:39 PM: Officer Torres responded to a report of a subject trespassing in the 5000 block of Abington Ct. Officer Torres made contact 23-year old female and accepted the citizen’s arrest for trespassing. She was booked at Sant Rita Jail.
3:48 PM: Officer Damewood investigated a burglary to a vehicle in the 39000 block of Balentine Dr. There was no loss reported.
6:21 PM: Officer Smith investigated a burglary to a vehicle in the 400 block of Newpark Mall Rd.
9:16 PM: Officer Herrera responded to a report of a vehicle driving recklessly and hitting a parked car in the area of Spruce St and Thornton Ave. While checking the area, Officer Swadener located the possible vehicle as it ran a red light.  A traffic stop ensued. The driver initially refused Officer’s commands to exit the vehicle, but eventually Officers were able to peacefully de-escalate the incident. While conducting an investigation of the reckless driving, Officer Smith made contact with a 26-year old male out of Newark. The subject took a fighting stance against the officer and after a brief struggle, the subject was taken into custody. A search of the subject was conducted and revealed possession of a controlled substance. He was ultimately arrested for obstructing peace officers and possession of a controlled substance. He was booked at Santa Rita Jail.
 
9:21 PM: Community Service Officer Lau investigated a burglary to a vehicle in the 400 block of Newpark Mall Rd.
11:25 PM: Officers responded to multiple reports of a disturbance in the 6000 block of Buena Vista Dr. Officers attempted to make contact with a 23-year old male out of Newark but he refused to comply with Officer’s commands. Officers were able to peacefully resolve the situation. With no further incident, the subject was ultimately arrested for battery and obstructing a peace officer. He was booked at Santa Rita Jail.

1:57 AM: Officer Swadener responded Newark Blvd and HWY 84 to a report of a hit and run collision.
2:40 AM: Officers responded to a report of a vehicle collision in the 6000 block of Fountain Ave. Officers made contact and arrested a 21-year old male out of Newark for DUI. He was booked at Santa Rita Jail.
3:44 PM: Officer Herrera responded to a report of a shoplifter in custody in the 200 block of Newpark Mall Rd. Officer Herrera accepted the citizen’s arrest of a 46-year old male for shoplifting. He was cited and released.

9:08 AM: Officer Quinonez investigated a burglary that occurred overnight in the 5000 block of Central Ave. Loss at this time is a lockbox.
 
3:20 PM: Officer Jackman investigated the theft of a catalytic converter in the 36000 block of Brandywine St that occurred within the last two days.
7:48 PM: Officer Herrera responded to a report of a subject starting a fire in the 35000 block of Newark Blvd. Officer Herrera made contact and arrested a 50-year old male for possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of identity theft items with intent to defraud. He was booked at Santa Rita Jail.
7:50 PM: Officers responded to a report of a subject brandishing a knife in the 200 block of Newpark Mall Rd. Officers located the subject, a 51-year old male, nearby. The subject was ultimately arrested for exhibiting a deadly weapon other than a firearm. The weapon was taken for evidence and the subject was cited.

7:30 AM: Officer Rivera responded to a report of shoplifting in the 7000 block of Thornton Ave. The subject fled prior to officer arrival.
8:50 PM: Officer Jackman investigated the theft of a catalytic converter in the 5000 block of Sunrose Ave that occurred overnight. 
2:44 PM: Officer Herrera responded to a report of a shoplifter in custody in the 200 block of Newpark Mall Rd. Officer Herrera accepted the citizen’s arrest of a 60-year old female out of Fremont for grand theft. She was cited and released.

4:30 – 7:00 PM: Officers investigated two burglaries to vehicles that occurred in the 5000 block of Mowry Ave. Loss was a wallet.
7:53 PM: Officer Cervantes responded to a report of a shoplifter in custody in the 200 block of Newpark Mall Rd. Officer Cervantes accepted the citizen’s arrest of a 22-year old female out of Fremont for theft. She was cited and released.

1:35 AM: Officer Norvell responded to a report of a disturbance in the 5000 block of Cedar Ct. Officer Norvell made contact and arrested a 40-year old male for an active felony arrest warrant. He was booked at Santa Rita Jail.
4:26 AM: Officers investigated multiple commercial burglaries that occurred overnight. Loss was a computer scanner, cash, an ipad, and tools. Officers are investigating.
8:11 AM: Officers investigated the theft of a vehicle in the 5800 block of Saint Matthew Drive.
10:05 AM: Officer Damewood investigated multiple burglaries to vehicles that occurred overnight. Loss was gate remote, jewelry, a wallet and tools respectively. Officers are investigating.

7:03 AM: Officer Damewood investigated multiple burglaries to vehicles that occurred overnight in the 39000 block of Cedar Blvd. Loss was tools.
11:03 AM: Officer Arroyo investigated the attempted theft of a vehicle in the 5800 block of NewPark Mall Rd that occurred sometime overnight.  
11:39 AM: Officer Soto investigated a theft from an unlocked vehicle in the 38000 block of Jonquil Drive. The theft occurred sometime overnight. The loss was multiple security badges and a knife.
2:49 PM: Officer Soto investigated the theft of a bicycle in the 36000 block of Newark Blvd.
3:49 PM: Officer Arroyo investigated a burglary to a vehicle in the 37000 block of Enterprise Ct. Loss was tools.
9:48 PM: Officers responded to a trespassing complaint in the 7000 block of Mowry Ave. Officers made contact and arrested a 29-year old male for possession of a controlled substance. He was booked at Santa Rita Jail and his vehicle was towed.

12:37 AM: Officer Riddles investigated a package theft from 5000 block of Pandorea Terr.
2:28 AM: Officers investigated multiple commercial burglaries that occurred overnight. Loss was a cashbox, $300 cash respectively.
9:06 AM: Officer Soto investigated the attempted theft of vehicle in the 5000 block of Jonathan Drive.
9:44 AM: Officer Arroyo investigated a vandalism to a vehicle in the 6000 block of Mirabeau Dr that occurred overnight.
10:43 AM: Officer Soto investigated a report of vandalism in the 5900 block of Mowry Ave that occurred overnight.
11:57 AM: Officer San Pedro investigated the theft of a vehicle in the 5400 block of Jonathan Drive that occurred overnight.
1:24 PM: Officer Soto investigated a package theft in the 5800 block of Thornton Ave. At approximately 4:20 PM, Officer Soto responded to a report of a disturbance in the 5600 block of Thornton Ave. Officer Soto made contact with a 52-year old female who was in possession of the stolen package from the 5800 block of Thornton Ave. Officer Soto returned the package to the victim. The victim did not seek further prosecution.
9:54 PM: Officers responded to a report of a disturbance in the 6000 block of Thomas Ave.
Upon arrival, officers located an involved subject nearby laying facedown. As officers attempted to make contact and detain the subject, a 19-year old male, he grabbed an officer’s hair. After a brief struggle, officers arrested the subject for battery on a person, being too inebriated to care for himself or others, battery on a peace officer and obstructing a peace officer. He was booked at Santa Rita Jail.

8:28 AM: Officer Rivera made contact with a 45-year old male out of Union City and arrested him for possession of burglary tools and expired registration. He was cited and released.

9:14 PM: NPD received an outside agency request, advising a vehicle had fled from law enforcement and was last seen entering Newark. Officer Norvell located the vehicle in the 2000 block of Newpark Mall Rd. A high-risk car stop ensued. The driver, a 45-year old male out of Oakland, was taken into custody without further incident. The requesting agency responded and took custody of the driver.

9:37 AM: Officer San Pedro investigated the theft of a catalytic the 3600 block of Dijon Pl that occurred overnight.
10:25 AM: Officer Damewood investigated a burglary and window smash to a vehicle in the 39000 block of Eureka Dr that occurred sometime overnight. Loss was tools.
12:02 PM: Officer Damewood conducted a traffic enforcement stop of a vehicle in the area of Cedar Boulevard and Central Avenue. Officer Damewood made contact and arrested a 59-year old male out of Oakland for an outstanding warrant. He was issued a new court date and released.
1:40 PM: Officer Arroyo investigated a report of vandalism in the 6000 block of Jarvis. Officer Arroyo accepted the citizen’s arrest of a 40-year old male out of Newark for vandalism. He was cited and released.
4:39 PM: Officer Rivas investigated a burglary to a vehicle in the 6000 block of Joaquin Murieta Ave that occurred overnight. Loss was unknown at this time.
5:14 PM: Officer Soto investigated a theft that occurred in the 7000 block of Thornton Ave. Officers made contact and arrested a 29-year old male out of Newark for violating probation and petty theft. He was booked at Santa Rita Jail.

10:21 AM: Officer San Pedro investigated the theft of a vehicle in the 6000 block of Joaquin Murieta Ave that occurred sometime within the last few days. The vehicle was located in Oakland. While investigating, Officer San Pedro made contact and arrested a 51-year old female out of San Jose for an outstanding warrant. She was issued a new court date and released.
10:54 AM: Officer Torres investigated a theft that occurred  in the 7000 block of Thornton Ave.
12:44 PM: Officer Damewood investigated the theft of a vehicle in the 5000 block of Mowry School Rd.
1:27 PM: Officer Torres made contact and arrested a 54-year old male out of Hayward for and outstanding warrant. He was issued a new court date and released.
8:28PM: While on patrol, Officer Slavazza made contact and arrested a 37-year old female in the 39000 block of Cedar Blvd for giving false identification to a police office, obtaining credit for identity theft, possession of drug paraphernalia, and an outstanding warrant. She was booked at Santa Rita.
11:24 PM: Officer Kapu made contact and arrested a 40-year old male in the area of Jarvis Ave and Newark Blvd for an outstanding warrant. He was cited and released.
