INCIDENT: Fatal Traffic Collision
LOCATION: Palmdale Road & Cantina Drive, Victorville
VICTIM(S): Larry Bell, 71 year old male resident of Victorville
SUMMARY: On Thursday, January 13, 2022, at 7:56 p.m., deputies from the Victorville Station along with rescue personnel from Victorville Fire Department and American Medical Response responded to a vehicle versus pedestrian traffic collision, on Palmdale Road and Cantina Drive. Deputies and medical personnel arrived on scene and pronounced the pedestrian deceased. Deputies from the Victorville Station Major Accident Investigation Team (M.A.I.T) responded and assumed the investigation. Deputies learned the pedestrian walked south across Palmdale Road and was struck by a vehicle traveling east on Palmdale Road. The driver remained on scene and cooperated with investigators.
All east bound lanes of Palmdale Road between Cantina Drive and Cobalt Road were closed for several hours while deputies conducted the investigation. The investigation is still ongoing.
