The Rutherford County Sheriff's Office honored Investigator Lori Morris and Sergeant Bruce W Greene with a reception to acknowledge their retirement.

 Investigator Lori Morris started in forensics in a non-sworn volunteer capacity in 2002.  From 2003 – 2006 Inv. Morris was a sworn deputy with Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office working in the forensic division.  Inv. Morris left Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office in 2007 to work for the Polk County Sheriff’s Department and Cleveland Regional Police Department until 2014.  Inv. Morris returned to work for Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office in 2014 and remained until her retirement.
Inv. Morris stated, “don’t like long speeches about me!  I loved working in Forensics and it’s all I ever wanted to do!  I have met so many good people along the way and will miss it.”
  
Sgt. Bruce W Greene graduated from Isothermal B.L.E.T. Program in 1992.  Bruce began his 30-year career with the Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office as a reserve officer in 1992.  In April 1993 Bruce was hired full time as a patrol officer under Sheriff Dan Good. 
Bruce was promoted to Sergeant in the Road Patrol Division in 1998.  He continued to serve the road division until he was promoted to Crime Scene Investigator in the Forensics Division in 2002 then under Sheriff Jack Conner, Bruce was transferred to the Criminal Investigator Division in 2006. 
In 2010 when Sheriff Chris Francis was elected Bruce went back to a Crime Scene Investigator in Forensics where he continued to lead Crime Scene Division until his retirement.
Throughout his 30-year career Bruce has received numerous awards and citations including 3 Region C Awards and 2 Departmental Accommodations’ for life saving measures.  He has also received his Advanced Law Enforcement Certification and Advanced Service Award though the North Carolina Department of Justice. Bruce was instrumental in the opening of the Forensic Building at its Spindale location in 2006.

Sheriff Chris Francis thanked Investigator Lori Morris and Sergeant Bruce W Greene for their dedicated service to the Rutherford County Sheriff's Office, and the citizens of Rutherford County.
